Over the next few months, I will be sharing tips and exercises with you to help you reduce stress, increase energy and emotional resilience. Sounds great, right? Even better, at the end of the month you’re invited to a webinar where I will go into greater detail and provide even more juicy strategies, resources, and special bonus material.
I am calling the tips and exercises Daily Renewal Rituals (#DRR). These are simple practices you can easily incorporate in your daily routine – no matter how busy you are! You can practice the DRR during the month and get help if needed at the month end webinar.
The monthly webinar will give you additional practices and more information so you can effectively create and customize stress management strategies that work for you.
This month’s Renewal Ritual is called “Attitude Breathing”. Attitude Breathing is simply breathing slowly and consciously while intentionally creating or recreating a desired emotional state.
On the inhale you will visualize your desired state of being and the desired emotion. On the exhale you will release the depleting emotions, feelings and thoughts and let them go. For example, I will breathe in joy and exhale out the sadness. I might breathe in peace and exhale stress.
We want to do deep diaphragmatic and abdominal breathing. Be sure to be in an upright position where your chest and shoulders are broad and expanded. You want to make plenty of room in your rib cage for that diaphragm to raise and lower and help the lungs expand and contract.
You will want to concentrate on abdominal and diaphragmatic breathing. Breathe in, breathe out! Breathe in the word and emotion you are seeking, breathe out the emotion that’s depleting and that you would like to release.
Do this for as long as it takes for you to feel that shift happen.
Good luck. And stay tuned for more great information next week.
